Cloisonné Vase Antique Chinese Ginger Jar Turquoise 1920's DazzleCity

Here's what I know about Chinese cloisonné - not a whole heck of alot. I know about cloisonné jewelry - very fine to newer lumpy bumpy - vases I'm kind of lost. I generally buy things that I know about or simply buy them because I like them.

This is how this came to me - estate piece I've agreed to sell on consignment. The owner told me that her husband brought it back from the orient and that it was an older piece when he bought it. It is a fine ginger jar. She felt it was 1920's era. She "felt" that it was worth much more than she wants for it. It's 14 & 1/2 inches tall.  It's 7 inches wide. The cloisonné is very fine and smooth There are no dents - chips or scratches on this piece. The lid fits snug. The inside of the lid and almost the entire inside of the jar are also a solid blue enamel. The very bottom of the jar inside does show some age wear. I am not neither a bronze - copper or brass expert by any means. It does not stick to a magnet (dah) - I won't try to polish it anywhere so if there is some secret to metal let me know and I will look

As a general rule the plain "CHINA" mark came into use after 1891 when US federal law required all imports to be marked with their country of origin. The addition of "MADE IN" was required from 1919. The "PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF" or its abbreviation P.R.O.C. in Western or Chinese characters was added from 1949.
