Lion Skull Goth Cufflinks Silver Vintage Ornate DazzleCity

Well these are another mystery pair.  I've had them forever. Their in pristine condition.  I just don't know what they represent. Lions? Skulls? Some kind of Goth symbol? Their big measuring 1 1/2" long.  A blackened background oner a high polished silver plate. No markings to indicate who made them.  The mechanism functions properly. Maybe you know what the symbolism means? In my possession for 15 - 20 years.
