Pate Spreader Server Cheese Sterling Silver Jelly Stamped

Well you tell me - I think my best guess us pate but I could be wrong.  Vintage sterling silver piece stamped sterling on the handle - on the blade it's stamped stainless. Absolutely no clue who the maker is or the age. Just coming out of my sterling stash.  It measures 5-7/8" long - only one I have.
