This is one of several pieces of Baltic amber that I acquired in the late 80's from a dealer who was from Poland. I met her at the Tucson Gem Show. I bought amber beads - jewelry and specimens from her for several years. Her brother owned the mine and I trusted her exclusively. I used this specimen to display in my jewelry case of amber so that customers could see the various stages of gem polishing when making jewelry. I started with a raw piece - then a sliced piece - then a polished piece etc till you got to the finished bead. It made a really great and educational display. This is not some cheap chinese mixed with lucite junk you see today - this is the real deal. I am an old white woman of Irish decent - if you think the hand isn't the right color please adjust your monitor. I put my hand in alot of pictures so you can reference the true color and size of an items.
