This is a pretty finding - gold plate. The colors of the crystalized rock are very nice. There is one tiny fleabite on the top - Mother Nature has a sense of humor sometimes. I never actualy noticed it before until I shot the pictures. It does not affect the structure of the cabochon itself. It measures 1 1/4" long. No wear to this one and of course it's the only one I have.
I've been in jewelry for a very long time - I rarely see Rhodochrosite in a gold plated finding. Generally they are always set into sterling.
