This is an original late 80's cast piece. It measures approx 7/8 inches tall. It's solid solid wax cast weighing 2.8 grams and has excellent detail. 3-d in nature. Only piece I have.
As charms go this is a fairly rare piece I realize it has been re-cast lately but there are some subtle differences that you can clearly see. First the trident is very straight and correct. Also the built in bail is positioned correctly to be worn facing front to add the chain. It is also stamped STER an indication of an older piece. Most reproduced pieces simply say 925 or in pictures they won't show you the backside. If quality matters to you - this one is a nice piece - made in the USA - solid.
There's ton's of cheap injection molded pieces from china and Thailand around. Their really shinny - you wear them awhile and they start looking like %#@. You try to polished them - they just get worse looking - that's because they rhodium plate them and that plating goes over some mystery material. They don't stick to a magnet because their quadruple plate. Yup you've been duped again. Educate yourself - there's crooks everywhere.
