AUTHENTIC TIBETAN MEDITATING 7-9" SINGING BOWL HIMALAYAN BUDDHIST MANTRA

Used since 560 B.C. to invoke a deep state of relaxation, meditation, and spiritual well being, this is the authentic Tibetan singing bowl. The bowl was hand-hammered by an artisan from copper, zinc, tin, iron, and brass, ensuring every bowl is unique. The metals represent the symbiotic relationship between the universe's basic elements, and etched on the side of the bowl is what I think is a Buddhist mantra meant to purify the mind and soul. 

I do not have the wooden striker but running one along the rim creates complex, harmonic tones with subtle variations that differ with each bowl due to their hand-made origin. Tapping the bowl with the striker generates a bell sound that signifies the beginning or ending of a chant. It measures 7" across.  When sitting on the table 3 1/2" H. And it's very heavy weighing 2.7 pounds. How old is it? I really have no clue - does have use on the design - hope you can see that in the pictures - personally I have had this one many many years - I don't even recall how long honestly. It does have a beautiful sound. If struck by metal makes one sound (not recommended) Wood has it's own sound as well
