Vintage Meerschaum earrings - intricately carved with a swirling design - pave set rhinestones thruout - Old school screw back mechanism. The "button" measures 3/4" wide. Only set I have. Circa 1940-50.
Don't know what Meerschaum is? Meerschaum is made from the mineral sepiolite, also known as meerschaum. Meerschaum is sometimes found floating on the Black Sea and is rather suggestive of sea foam. Turkey produced lots of pipes carved into amazing figures. Jewelry is around but harder to find.
